Ruth Raskin is a Scarsdale-based fine art photographer.  The gelatin silver prints exhibited in "Dimensions" are a new look at angles and perspectives from familiar Paris landmarks. These include a catwalk at the Musee d'Orsay, crisscrossing elevators at Le Bon Marche and the ceiling of the Louvre.  Raskin's most recent solo show was "Barcelona in Black & White" in 2010 at the Soho Photo Gallery in New York City.  A comprehensive look at her work, “European Exposures,” was exhibited at the Show Walls Gallery, also in New York, in 2008. In addition, her photographs have been shown at The Pen & Brush and Salmagundi Club, both in Greenwich Village, the Katonah Museum of Art and the Flynn Gallery in Greenwich, Connecticut. She is an exhibiting member of The Soho Photo Gallery, Greenwich Art Society, The Ground Glass, Mamaroneck Artists Guild and the New Rochelle Art Association.

Brenna Rosenfeld - mixed media

I consider my artwork a journey in which I learn, teach, experiment, make mistakes and take risks.  Right now I am primarily concerned with shapes and their relationships to each other, texture, pattern and color. Most of my work contains recycled paper that I paint and draw over many times until it becomes almost unrecognizable.  I enjoy mixed media because it allows me the freedom to experiment with many materials, substrates and ideas silmultaneously.  Through making art I hope to bring a small amount of beauty into the world with my vision and interpretation.

The conscious use of negative space is evident in all of my work. Because negative space as well as positive space helps define sculpture, the importance of working with that negative space and deliberately using it as an element of the sculpture itself has become more important in my work over the course of time. I have experimented with the idea of making negative space the primary sculpture itself, i.e., that which the viewer’s eye see first. It is the combination of the two, positive and negative space, which gives sculpture its dynamic quality.
I have exhibited in Illinois, Pennsylvania, Virginia and New York.
